Energy Audits

  • Your company is not classified as SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and is therefore obliged to carry out an energy audit according to the Energy Efficiency Directive (Directive 2012/27/EU)?
Energy audits

This Directive has been transposed into national law as an amendment of the German Act on Energy Services and other Energy Efficiency Measures (EDL-G), which provides that all companies which are not a Small or Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) are required to conduct their first energy audit according to DIN EN 16247-1 by 5 December 2015, and at least once every four years from the date of the first audit.

Companies are exempt from the obligation to perform an energy audit if at the relevant time they either have an energy management system under DIN EN ISO 50001 or an environmental management system in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EMAS).

We are authorized to carry out first or repeat energy audits in accordance with DIN EN 16247 (in future most likely ISO 50.002). Our auditors are registered with the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).
